SinoApps: Powerful Compliance Tool
SinoApps has created a unique new suite of powerful services that simplify the job of complying with China RoHS. Using their online system, you can submit product data, download a declaration report translated into Simplified Chinese and manage supplier compliance reports.
The SinoApps team is uniquely qualified to offer this service. Their staff includes many who are fluent in Chinese and they have cultivated contacts in the Chinese Ministry of Information Industry (MII). This effort has resulted in a direct endorsement of the SinoApps system by the Deputy General Director of the MII, Mr. Shaojun Yang.
Using the service you can generate declaration reports for one product or for hundreds. Each report may include up to 500 lines of parts declarations. The reports can be downloaded in both English and in Simplified Chinese.
Chinese nationals with extensive technology experience perform the translation. This ensures that translations will make sense and will communicate the essential technical details. Upon completion of the translation, the US staff of SinoApps reviews each report for accuracy and completeness. Thus, the quality of the service is ensured through a redundant process of translation and verification. Only after this QA process is completed will your Simplified Chinese report be released for download.
The declaration reports are required for phase I, but it is now important to start planning for the next phase. According to SinoApps' solution roadmap, users will be able to directly download the China RoHS certificate required in phase II. This type of end-to-end service will be particularly helpful for those who are unfamiliar with the China test lab certification procedure and MII phase II regulations.
The service begins with a registration page. Just go to the SinoApps home page and click on the Sign Up link to begin. After you have completed the registration form, your account is created and you are immediately taken to the first step of the process.
Download the Excel template by clicking on the Excel Template link just under the large box highlighting Step 1. Save this file on your computer. This would be a good time to take a quick look around the site.
Use the blue links at the top of the page to navigate. Report takes you to the second step of the process. When you have completed data entry in the Excel template, this is where you will upload the file. Once uploaded, any further editing of the data can be done directly via the web site.
The Supplier page lets you manage compliance reports for components submitted by your suppliers. For example, if you purchase a circuit board from a supplier, you will ask that supplier to use SinoApps to generate compliance reports that you can include in your documentation to meet your compliance requirements. During registration, your supplier will select your company name from the list in the Requested By field. Once your supplier has completed the SinoApps process, you can download the English and Chinese declaration reports on the Supplier page.
The Search page allows you to search for reports by component, part, material or substance. Terminology is a bit odd, but that is how it is defined by the MII. A component is a complete product, or a major piece of a larger system. A part may be a sub-assembly or an individual electronic component in the product. A material is something that may include multiple substances. A substance is generally something with a CAS number. More complete definitions are included in the Excel template you downloaded.
