China RoHS EFUP Guidelines Translation

To help expand the availability of good translations of China RoHS documents, RoHSwell.com has arranged for the translation of the Environment-Friendly Use Period Guidelines (Draft). As with other RoHSwell publications, purchasers of the guidelines are entitled to receive free updates as they become available.

The document is entitled "General guidelines of environment-friendly use period of electronic information products draft." The version is undated but is marked "Submit for Approval." This means the final draft just prior to the official release. According to the translator, any changes between this version and the final release are likely to be minor and primarily administrative in nature.

Environment-Friendly Use Period (EFUP) is the number that must appear inside the circular recycling symbol on a required product label. The guidelines are 10 pages long. They explain a process for selecting an EFUP computation method and how to use each of the four methods offered. A table of suggested EFUP values for selected products is also presented in an appendix. The guidelines reference the China RoHS regulation (Order number 39) and standard SJ/T 11364-2006, Marking for control of pollution caused by electronic information products.

In keeping with the RoHSwell policy of including free updates in the purchase price, this draft standard will also include free updates. When the official standard is released, it will be checked for changes and translated again. The revised translation will then become available to customers through their individual login accounts. Each customer is notified by email of any new releases for products purchased.

The translated document is available for purchase at the RoHSwell.com website on the RoHS, WEEE and China RoHS book page.
