Av-Stack VFR Avionics Panel Package
The Av-Stack TM VFR Avionics Panel Package from Avionics Specialists LLC (AvSpec) is a fully integrated and assembled package, ready to install in an aircraft panel with no additional assembly. The instrument trays have already been connected into a single, airworthy unit using the top quality design and fabrication methods that keep pilots coming back to AvSpec.
Included in the package are the Garmin GPSMap 496 with AirGizmo Panel Dock, Garmin SL 40 Slimline Comm Transceiver, Garmin GTX 327 Transponder, and TCI SSD-120 Nano Encoder. This combination delivers moving map navigation, terrain awareness, essential communications and a full-featured transponder all in one, compact rack assembly.
If you buy a VFR panel package elsewhere, assembling the mounting trays and fabricating the harness are up to you. Av-Stack TM arrives fully assembled. Each mounting tray is securely fastened into a unified stack. The encoder is already mounted above the SL 40 tray. Cables are attached and laced into a complete harness. Mounting tabs run the full height of the assembly. The assembly uses only aviation grade aluminum plates, rivets and captive nuts. These are the same fabrication methods AvSpec uses to build custom panels for shop customers.
Integrating the Av-Stack TM into the rest of the panel is also easy. Each wire and cable in the harness is individually labeled. The installation instructions provide a step-by-step sequence for mounting, connecting the harness and installing the complete unit. Required interconnections between the instruments are already completed. The altitude encoder gray code lines are interfaced to the Garmin GTX 327 transponder, and the serial output of the GPSMap 496 is directly interfaced to the SL 40 transceiver. You need only connect the pre-labeled power and ground wires to your aircraft electrical/avionics power bus.
The Av-Stack is designed with the most popular avionics products for VFR flying. You can pick and choose the Garmin products that you would like.
